Faint star left after removing the Gemini watermark? Here is the fix

Most images come out perfectly clean, but compressed or edited files can leave a trace. These quick fixes solve almost every case.

Why it happens

The remover reverses the blend that added the sparkle. That works best on the original file. When an image is saved again as a JPEG, shrunk, sharpened or screenshotted, the pixels around the mark change a little, so the reversal can overshoot or undershoot slightly.

Fix step by step

  1. Open the image remover and add your image.
  2. Turn on "Zoom to corner" to see the mark area up close.
  3. Move "Removal strength" until the star disappears.
  4. If an outline remains, raise "Edge cleanup".
  5. For anything left, tap "Brush fix", paint over the spot and tap "Apply fix". It rebuilds the area using nearby texture.

Prevent it next time

  • Use the original download from Gemini, not a screenshot. See screenshot vs original.
  • Remove the watermark before resizing, filtering or compressing the image.
  • Save the result as PNG if you plan to edit it further.

FAQ

Why is there a dark star after removal?

The removal was slightly too strong for that image. Lower "Removal strength" a little.

Why is a light star still visible?

Heavy compression weakened the match. Raise "Removal strength" a little.

Does Brush fix blur the image?

No. It rebuilds the painted spot using real texture from around it.

Will fixing it lower the quality?

No. Only the small mark area is changed.
